HASTE Participation Funding

Teachers, school-based environmental clubs and Parent Advisory Committees (PACs) registered on the HASTE website can apply to receive up to $175 per school in participation funding through HASTE.

In order to be eligible to apply for funding, a teacher or representative must:

  1. Register for one of the HASTE Webinars (which explains steps 2 and 3).
  2. Use the MyTravel tool to calculate baseline transportation emissions and set a target commitment for improvement.
  3. Submit results and pledges using the HASTE emissions database.
  4. Fill out and submit a short, online application form.

For a suggested plan of action that incorporates all of these steps, check out the Classroom Emissions Tracking Program.

Each classroom is eligible to receive $50 (up to a max of 3 teachers can apply per school each year), and you will receive an extra $25 if three teachers in your school register. PAC or environmental clubs are eligible for $50 in funding for every 25 students who use MyTravel, with an extra $25 available if 75 students calculate their emissions and send in their pledges. Share the total amount of $175 equally amongst yourselves to be used in a way that supports your teachings or work on emissions reduction: buy reflective stickers and decorate your helmets, take a field trip or hike to a nearby park and hire a naturalist for the day, etc.

If you want to pursue further funding for your emission reduction program, check out our list of grant providers and funding opportunities.

Though we don't require it in order to release participation funding, we would love to know about your plan, your successes and how you have chosen to spend your funding. Please send us any information about your emissions reduction work you'd like to share or showcase.
