Bike Right

Teaching a child to ride a bicycle is the perfect metaphor for parenting: you provide guidance, instruction and support; but at some point you must let go, and watch your child ride away, trusting they have what they need to succeed on their own.

In contrast, empty bike racks outside our schools, libraries and parks symbolize how far we’ve strayed from providing our children with the freedom and independence they need for healthy growth, exploration and development.

The goal of Bike Right is to make cycling education accessible to all children and youth in British Columbia. To learn more about this initiative, visit
