BC Transportation Minister Todd Stone wants YOUR input on BC’s next 10 year transportation plan.
This is an opportunity to provide your feedback on transportation priorities and issues that directly affect you and your community. The plan will guide transportation choices in the province for the next 10 years.

Taking the lead from a new generation of travelers.
The City of Coquitlam and TransLink have partnered to deliver School Travel Planning and Travelsmart in the Tri-Cities. Eight middle schools will begin the program over the next couple of years.
HASTe is very excited to be working closely with School District 43 and the City to assess school travel culture and educate students on the benefits of active transportation such as walking, cycling, and scooting. Click here for the full story.
Surrey Walk and Roll Week
Almost 7,000 students participated in Surrey’s annual October event this year.
The results are in for Walk and Roll 2014:
1st place: Hjorth Road School – awarded the coveted Mayor Dianne Watts Golden Shoe and $500. 2nd place: Cambridge Elementary – received a brand new bike. 3rd place: Coast Meridian Elementary – won a MEC bike package (locks, helmet, lights).
Congratulations to everyone who participated and a big thank you to the City of Surrey’s partners, ICBC and TravelSmart.

The premier conference in North America for walking and cycling is coming to Vancouver!
Get ready all you health nuts because the conference theme for 2016 is “better health through active transportation.”
HASTe will be out in full force and we’re already talking about organizing a pre-conference workshop for all the folks working and interested in active school travel.
Oil up that rusty chain and bring them walking shoes! See you in 2016!
