Bill Russell, a former professional basketball player of the team Boston Celtics, passed away on 31st July 2022, aged 88. Russell’s family announced the news on social media, stating he died peacefully with his current wife, Jeannie, by his side. His cause of death is not disclosed yet.
Russell married four times in his life. His first marriage lasted for 17 years with his first love, Rose Swisher. They first met in college together and tied the knot in 1956. However, they went their separate ways and divorced in 1973. Rose Russell passed away on 11th September 2014, aged 78.
Bill Russell and Rose Swisher were college sweethearts. They both got married on 9th December 1956. Together, they had three children: Jacob Russell, Karen Russell, and William Russell Jr.
