School Travel Planning in Squamish

School Travel Planning (STP) in Squamish began in the Fall of 2015 when three schools were selected to begin the process: Mamquam Elementary, Garibaldi Highlands Elementary, and L’Ecole Squamish Elementary. In the Fall of 2016, Brackendale Elementary, Valleycliffe Elementary, and Sea to Sky Learning Connections at Stawamus joined the program.

As pat of the School Travel Planning process, facilitators from HASTe worked with members of each school’s community to identify their transportation challenges, and develop strategies for addressing and overcoming them. They also worked with community stakeholders on a number of initiatives to encourage walking and cycling to school.
